Set Design and Photography

Nick and I design our furniture together - one of us will have a starting point - then over days and weeks we'll nut it out until we have a piece we're both happy with

An engineer by trade, Nick's brain works in straight edges, symmetry and problem solving whereas my painterly brain is scribbly and prefers things more wonky and imperfect

It's a mix that works very well - a push and pull if you will - and amazingly we always see our products in the same colours

The best bit of the process (for me, Faith) is bringing the concepts to life in the form of set design

I'm always fizzing to paint a prop, backdrop or whatever!

We also do our own photography - control freaks? maybe - we just enjoy the process so much

The Faux Fakeries Faux Shadow set up

We thought it would be fun to make oversized wooden shadows of our tables - aa a play on the fake element of the marble table tops and a great way to mess around with perspectives - literally and physically

Before we created The Faux Fakeries tables - Faith was painting different types and colours of marble and granite

We used these in another collection of imagery to promote the tables

The Lawn Table (and friends)

Faith painted the props on mdf board to create a picturesque scene

Far out!

One sunny Sunday - we took the Hoofies out for a wander in the Waiuku Forestry

The Trifecta Table - we wanted a colourful, triangular table for our home so we made one

Three sides, three legs, three tulips, 3x3 squares on the Rubix Cube makes for a cute picture

Lets make The Trifecta levitate! We could have done this in photoshop but that's no fun

Faith painted a wee garden vista in the dining room fireplace cavity - the chimney and fireplace were removed when our 1870s cottage was relocated from Ponsonby Road
